Stranger Things was a huge hit when it premiered on Netflix in October end in 2017. No doubt, Duffer Brothers had in mind that they would bring another spooky season of the show. Season 2 swayed the audience’s heart with the craze for the previous cast and new characters. Stranger Things season 2 cast surely did an amazing job to raise the bar higher and maintain the show’s legacy.
Just as in season 1, the Stranger Things season 2 cast was also put up in the mysterious situations of Hawkins. Set up in the premises of 1984, this time, the paranormal incidents take place around Will and his dear ones.

Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven)
Millie Bobby Brown plays the role of Eleven– a girl who has telepathic and psychokinetic powers. She is the most prominent character among the Stranger Things Season 2 cast.
Once again Millie dived herself into Eleven’s shoes deeper portraying her recovery after she escapes from the Hawkins Middle School. After spending a whole year in secrecy, she tries to connect with Mike and her mother Terry.
Meanwhile, she meets her sister 008 (Kali Prasad), who as the result of experimentation can send people into visual hallucinations. Both the sisters grow close.
Millie as Eleven learns to channel her anger as her power from 008 and uses it to find Terry. By the end of the season, Eleven fights with Demodog and reunites with Mike and her other friends. Hopper adopts her legally.
Millie got nominated for Primetime Emmy Awards two times consequently for this role.
David Kenneth Harbour (Jim Hopper)
David’s representation of Hawkins Police Department chief Jim Hopper was highly admired by the critics. When Eleven locates Hopper after seeing the packet of Eggos, he hides the fact that she is alive.
Season 2 shows his concern towards Eleven but it drifts them away. He agrees to help Eleven on the condition that he’ll adopt her legally. His splendid performance won him Primetime Emmy nominations twice.
He also keeps a check on Will’s condition. Later on, he suspects something unusual when the Halloween season goes around. Trying to handle the scenario, he gets stuck in a difficult situation in the tunnel.
Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler)
In season 2 Mike Wheeler and his friends Dustin and Lucas part ways.
He admits his feelings for Max. Shocked by Will‘s situation, they discover together the underground tunnels.
He meets Eleven by the end of the season. Finn is one among the Stranger Things season 2 cast members who won Screen Actors Guild Awards for his performance.
Noah Schnapp (Will Byers)
Noah Schnapp portrays a crucial character (Will Byers) in Stranger Things season 2 cast. Will Byers is possessed by an unusual creature (The Mind Flayer) from the Upside Down.
Dr. Sam Ownes often monitors Will’s condition and his link to the Upside Down. Will recurrently sees unusual scenarios and a monster. As and when Will confronts the monster, The Mind Flayer takes control over him.
Will scribbles and draws at times and realizes what he draws is associated with the Upside Down. One of Will’s drawings saves Hopper from the tunnel incident. When the tunnels of Hawkins Lab are set on fire, Will trembles with sharp pain.
Noah as Will suffers memory loss and gets treated to get out of possession of The Mind Flayer. The Morse code helps him connect with his group on recovery. He gets rescued from The Mind Flayer with the assistance of his mother, brother, and Max’s sister Nancy Wheeler. Though Will gets liberated from The Mind Flayer’s possession, the latter still keeps a watch on him.
Noah won the People’s Choice Award and Screen Actors Guild Award for his performance in the Duffer Brothers’ written, produced and directed series.
Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers)
Winona Ryder is one of the saviors of our lead character Will in the Stranger Things series. She can be seen as Joyce Byers- Jonathan and Will’s mother.
Winona Ryder has shown various shades of emotions in the series. She dates Bob Newby which marks a new chapter in the series. Her overprotective side for her kids is depicted by her not trusting Dr. Owens.
It was Joyce who asked Will to draw what he sees in his sudden visions due to the Upside Down. She along with Hopper decodes the scribbles and drawings. With her brave attempt to resolve the situation of Hawkins tunnel, she saves her son from The Mind Flayer but loses Bob. Ryder garnered a Screen Actors Guild Award for her performance in the series.
Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler)
Natalia Dyer did a splendid job representing herself in the shoes of Nancy Wheeler and won a Screen Actors Guild Award for the same. She had a hard time dealing with Barbara’s death and believes that her spirit follows her.
Together with Jonathan she furtively records Dr. Owens’ confession regarding Brenner’s experiment in the Lab that led to Barbara’s death. Wasting no time, they discuss the matter with Murray.
They get stuck in Byer’s home when the Demodogs attack them. Later Eleven saves them both and they team up with Joyce to rescue Will from The Mind Flayer.
Joe Keery (Steve Harrington)
Steve Harrington and Nancy grow distant after their recurring arguments.
As a part of the Stranger Things season 2 cast, Steve’s character grows into a mature personality. He develops a bond with Dustin and others.
While Joyce and others help Will get exorcised from the monster, Steve ensures the safety of the kids from the Demodogs. He also battles Max’s brother Billy. Joe takes home with him a Screen Actors Guild Award for his acting.
The Stranger Things Season 2: Plot
After the enormous success of Stranger Things’ first season, the Duffer Brothers were keen to launch its sequel. It turned out best in the favor of the show makers as well as the Stranger Things season 2 cast.
This time, there were new additions to the Stranger Things cast. Sadie Sink was introduced as Max, Sean Astin as Bob Newby, and Dacre Montgomery as Billy. Paul Reiser played the role of Dr. Sam Owens. All the new faces were at their best.
All nine episodes of this Netflix horror thriller were full of mystery and unexpected twists. Packed with suspenseful events, Will’s character under the monster’s possession was the main focus. Nevertheless, it didn’t overshadow the other characters.
Season 2 introduced the character of Eleven’s sister- Kali (aka Eight) played by Danish actress Linnea Berthelsen. Kali too had supernatural powers like Eleven.
We also did witness the prominence of Eggo waffles reaching heights as it has been featured in several episodes of the season. It won’t be wrong to say that Kellogg Eggo was also an eminent part of the Stranger Things season 2 cast.
The season was promoted during Super Bowl LI. It received 92% ratings on Rotten Tomatoes and an IMDb rating of 8.7/10.
The Stranger Things Season 2 cast performed exceptionally well and maintained the legacy from the first season to the fourth season. The series craze is undoubtedly observed among the fans. However, several faces from the Stranger Things season 2 cast will not be seen in season 5.
