- Mata Savinder Hardev was born into a middle-class Sikh family of Delhi.
- After her birth, her parents moved to Yamuna Nagar, but was later adopted by her childless relatives, Shri Gurmukh Singh and Madan Mata of Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh.
- She was a bright student and consistently scored above 90% in every examination.
- Though she was enrolled in Daulat Ram College, Delhi for higher education, she left her studies midway and got married to Baba Hardev Singh on the occasion of 28th Annual Nirankari Sant Samagam in Delhi on 14 November 1975.
- In 1980, when Baba Hardev Singh succeeded as the Spiritual Head of the Sant Nirankari Mission, she was addressed by Nirankari world as “Pujya Mata Savinder.”
- On 18 May 2016, she succeeded Baba Hardev Singh Maharaj as Head of the Sant Nirankari Mission following his death in a car crash in Canada. She was the first woman to become the spiritual head of Sant Nirankari Mission.
